Why Ecowarriors of the Metaverse?
We all are worried about the future of our planet and its inhabitants, whether humans, animals or plants. And we see with great preoccupation the way things are developing.
There are many ecological threats to planet Earth, including climate change, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, air and water pollution, and overconsumption of resources. Climate change, caused by the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, is leading to rising temperatures, sea levels, and more extreme weather events. Loss of biodiversity is occurring due to habitat destruction, hunting, and the introduction of invasive species. Deforestation is leading to loss of critical habitats for many species and also contributes to climate change. Air and water pollution are caused by human activities such as industrial processes and agriculture and can have negative effects on human health and ecosystems. Overconsumption of resources is leading to depletion of critical natural resources such as water and fossil fuels, as well as contributing to pollution and waste. We are at the turning point right now.
With our NFTs, we want to create expectation, interest and a following of critical thinkers aligned with our way of seeing the problems we all face and keep them sticky, informed, updated and entertained through the weekly newsletter, prizes, airdrops, merchandise, raffles etc of Gaialaxy once they have a Gaialaxy NFT and through the organization of contests and other events where newcomers can participate to get also freebies and free NFTs.
Our first NFT collection is composed of 20,000 units of a robotic army (more below). A set of 20,000 digital collectibles composed of 21 traits and 596 individual layers divided in three categories. The names of the categories will be the following ones: Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal.
The way to know which NFT the buyer has minted is the medal (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) that shows on the top left corner of the image.
Depending on the category the collector gets, he/she will get more or less benefits, privileges, airdrops. etc.
We have thought that many of the best collections and premium ones have been minted on the Ethereum blockchain and it’s the one we would choose. The price would be the same for all of the units and the buyer gets his/her NFT based on luck. The distribution of the NFTs would be 20% Gold Medal ones, 30% Silver Medal ones and 50% Bronze Medal ones.
With our collection we want to contribute to save this planet and fight the above-mentioned threats that the earth is facing right now, and with 10% of profits from the sale of our NFTs donated to charities that fight for different causes, from stopping poachers to human rights and the survival of the polar bears, we expect to make a direct impact in defending the future of the earth.
We also thought that Gaialaxy could have a mascot and we named it Captain Gaia: he would be our medium to communicate his adventures and those of the robot army now, and the alien and cyborg armies later on, to the people through our storytelling initiative that is the weekly newsletter in the form of a newspaper called Gaialactic News, of which you have an example in this presentation. Captain Gaia is a polar bear cub that became a pilot like his father, colonel Snowball. He is the leader of the "Ecowarriors of the Metaverse" coalition of armies made of robots, aliens and cyborgs. The storytelling covers Captain’s Gaia adventures, texts about the New Universe Order, the wars ravaging the metaverse and Captain Gaia’s mad family tales.
We have a detailed story planned, following the current trend to do storytelling to keep our audience engaged and interested but above all entertained and we thought of the following text to sum up the why of our project:
“Once upon a time, in a future era known as the Novacene, the world was in a state of ecological crisis. The planet was suffering from extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and widespread loss of biodiversity. In an effort to save the planet, a coalition called "Save the Planet" was formed, with James Lovelock, a renowned scientist and thinker, as its Prime Minister.
The coalition's main objective was to fight against the "New Universe Order," an evil system that sought to exploit and destroy the planet for their own gain. The New Universe Order had a fearful army and advanced technology at its disposal, and it was wreaking havoc on the planets’ ecosystems.
Prime Minister Lovelock knew that to defeat the New Universe Order, they would need a leader who was just as advanced and technologically savvy as their enemies. So, he entrusted Captain Gaia, an elite pilot who was trained specifically for this mission, to lead the war against the New Universe Order.
Captain Gaia had a deep understanding of the planets’ ecosystems and the importance of preserving them. He also had advanced weapons and technology at his disposal, making him a formidable opponent for the New Universe Order's Axis of Evil army.
With Captain Gaia at the helm, the coalition set out to defeat the New Universe Order and their army. They fought fierce battles across the globe and the metaverse, but Captain Gaia's knowledge of the different ecosystems proved to be a decisive advantage.
The main goal of Captain Gaia and the coalition was to emerge victorious, destroy the New Universe Order and its Axis of Evil army. With the victory of the armies led by Captain Gaia, the planet's ecosystems would recover, and the weather patterns return to normal. The oceans would be cleaner, and a wide variety of animals and insects would return to the once-barren landscapes.”
This is a brief presentation of Captain Gaia in our storytelling style:
“Our hero achieved such fame thanks to his courage and strategic and warlike abilities that the motto “In Gaia We Trust” was coined: visitors from other worlds who did not know who our brave warrior was believed that the slogan referred to the goddess Gaia, who was worshiped and whose cult had spread beyond Earth.
As for our brave polar bear cub, no one knows when he was born. After endless seasons of bitter fighting spanning countless metaverses and timelines, the world lost track of time as we know it today.
Thanks to Prime Minister Lovelock's calculations, it was established that Planet Earth, but not other worlds in the Milky Way and others nearby, had entered the Novacene age, although it could not be determined the year of the new age.
In the absence of records of Gregorian calendars - introduced in October 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII - due to the destruction and desolation of the endless wars waged in recent times, the New Universe Order, now in power in many metaverses and times and in part of the planet earth, decided to use the Mayan calendar as a new way of counting time.
There were also no records of births that occurred in the last thousands of years, so a Solomonic decision was made: all those living beings whose date of birth was not known would appear by default as born on the date of the creation of the world according to the Mayan calendar: 4 Ahau 8 Cumku, that is, August 11, 3114 B.C.”
